Video games are much more than a passive leisure activity. They are a unique and complex form of communication that supersedes the bounds of culture and language. At Bitmask Games, students learn how to synthesize logic and creativity through a single medium that is the practical application of all academic subjects combined, and a holistic sort of art form that encompasses every other.

This summer, we will help game lovers young and old learn how to turn their passion into a creative outlet.

Every week, we will be exploring a new genre of game, each with its own creative, technical and aesthetic challenges. By the end of each week, students will have a new game for their portfolio that can be played online!

Half days will be spent learning computer programming, building the engine that makes the game functional. The other half day will be spent creating our own assets - graphics, animation, music, narrative, and any specific features the week's particular game needs.

**All experience levels are welcome! We do request that students have a basic understanding of computers and are comfortable with a mouse and keyboard.
